David Irving

David Irving, a controversial British historian and accused holocaust denier, has recently been hacked by a group called the “anti-fascist hackers.” These hackers got into Irving’s private e-mail account and posted most of his private information, including e-mails, tour dates, and even account information of supporters on the WikiLeaks website.

This all happened on Friday night, one day before Irving was scheduled to speak at the Catholic Kolping Society of America in New York City. The organization stated that the event had originally been reserved under the name “Michael Singer” and was supposedly only a book reading. Once the venue learned that the event was being held for Irving it was canceled immediately. Irving’s shows are often booked in secret to help avoid mass amounts of protesters who would otherwise pressure venues to cancel on Irving.

The hackers sent an e-mail stating “We did this to expose this Nazi-sympathizer for who he is and to shut down/disrupt any possibility of Irving rearing his fascist head in public during his tour. To David Irving and all aspiring white-power, anti-immigrant, queer-bashing, racist pigs - give it up! We will fight you on the streets and on the Internet until you are swept into the dustbin of history.”

Irving suspected that the Jewish Defense Organization was behind the cyber attack, however the Organization released a statement saying “We applaud the act, but we have no idea who did it,” said spokesman Jeff Klein. “This is the first we’ve heard of it.” The fact remains that the actions of the hackers, though supported by many, unfortunately are still illegal.

"Holocaust denier" is a trumped up charge. It's not really a crime, anyway. It's only a slur used against him by people that don't like him.

You're right - he does admit he is a Holocaust denier. Post updated.

Re: Irving being an "accused holocaust denier". In a libel suit brought by Irving himself, a British judge concluded that Irving was "an active Holocaust denier; that he is anti-Semitic and racist, and that he associates with right-wing extremists who promote neo-Nazism." So if this is "accused", how can anyone be anything but an "accused" Holocaust Denier?
