wolf 300x240 Biologists Track Wolf Pack with GPS Tracking CollarsTo better track and understand the movements of wolves (considered an endangered species in Oregon, with only two known packs of wolves left), biologists have equipped the alpha male of a pack with a GPS tracking collar.

This tracker will update the scientists with the wolves’ locations multiple times a day, letting the the scientists understand exactly what these wolves do and how they survive out in the wild. Since there are only 2 packs of wolves in Oregon, and only about ten wolves in this pack, tracking them and making sure that they remain safe is an important job for the scientists as they try to keep this species from going extinct.
