criminals cell phone Woman Jailed for Sending Threatening Text Messages to HerselfA 25-year-old woman was sentenced to a year in jail and incurred around $50,000 in fines for sending a threatening text message… to herself. But the real crime is that she was accusing someone else of sending these threatening texts, and even got the innocent woman falsely arrested three times. Before her own arrest, Jeanne Mundango Manunga went to the police with an inbox full of threatening text messages from her ex-boyfriend and his sister-in-law. The police promptly arrested both of the suspects for sending these text messages.

After having spent time dealing with the police, being held in custody, and having to put up thousands of dollars in bail money, the ex-boyfriend and the sister-in-law finally proved their innocence. How? The suspects went to the cell phone store where Manunga bought the prepaid phone in the sister-in-law’s name. The victims talked to the salesman that sold Manunga the pre-paid cell phone and finally got the proof they needed to prove their innocence.

Thankfully for the victims, Manunga will be spending some time in jail, and will have to pay $50,000 to the victims in restitution for making them get falsely arrested on multiple occasions. The victims are now just worried about clearing their names, and getting the arrest records removed as they were innocent all along.
