Who’s Watching Over Baby Jesus (and Nativity Scenes) Nationwide?

0_churchnightThree wise churches use free GPS and video surveillance from BrickHouse Security to protect nativity scenes from pilfering; churches and synagogues across the U.S. are invited to participate in this free program

New York, NY (Vocus) December 9, 2009 — Last year, BrickHouse Security offered GPS tracking devices to religious institutions across the country interested in protecting their nativity scenes, Menorahs, and holiday decorations. “We feel great to be able to report 100% success in protecting these cherished items,” said Todd Morris, the company’s CEO. “Still, we are sad that many institutions didn’t know about the program and experienced thefts or vandalism.”

BrickHouse Security is renewing the program this year, adding motion-activated camera surveillance to its arsenal. The company, a provider of safety and security products to consumers, most of the Fortune 500, and major law enforcement agencies, is highlighting the program through three (wise) churches located coast to coast. Each will receive not only a GPS tracker (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/gps-car-tracking-vehicle-logging.html), but also the new Global Watchman remote cellular surveillance (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/cellular-surveillance.html) system. This system instantly captures images when it detects motion, whether in light or complete darkness, and automatically sends them as an alert to a PC or cell phone.

Grahm Memorial Presbyterian Church, located in Coronado, CA, is new to the program. “Last year, we bolted down all of our nativity scene figures,” said Phil Manion, the church Deacon in charge of the nativity scene. “Despite that, Baby Jesus was stolen and other figures were damaged. This year we’ll use GPS tracking and surveillance to catch them in the act and track down these items. The nativity scene means a lot to our congregation, not to mention being expensive to replace, and we’re eager to keep it intact through the holidays.”

The second highlighted church is St. Ambrose in Old Bridge, NJ, a participant in last year’s program. Said church member Alan Czyzewski, “We actually installed the small GPS device in the Jesus figurine. Fortunately, true to the Tale of the Magi, Jesus remained in the manger and out of a cross-town pursuit.”

The third church, representing the program in the Midwest, is St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, IL. Said George Smith, the church’s rector, “Our nativity scene was untouched last year, thanks in part to the GPS system. We’re certainly hoping that the prospect of picking up a tracking device diverts any attempts to remove the figures from the nativity scene this year, too.”

About GPS Tracking

GPS tracking (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/gps-car-tracking-vehicle-logging.html) devices are used to locate objects virtually anywhere in the world using satellite technology. Most are small enough to covertly fit inside most everyday objects. Moving or tampering with the object triggers a silent alarm, alerting the owner that the object is mobile. The owner or police can then view the object’s path through a mobile phone or computer wherever it goes.

GPS tracking & GPS Logger (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/gps-car-tracking-vehicle-logging.html) devices are finding their way into many new tracking applications, including organ donor shipments, child safety, vehicles and large equipment recovery, undercover police stakeouts where officers use the panic button to signal distress, and wildlife movement. For example, one BrickHouse Security customer used GPS to track alligators’ movement patterns.

How to Participate

Organizations interested in participating in this program should visit http://blog.brickhousesecurity.com/baby-jesus-gps/ and supply their background and contact information. Those selected to join will receive a free GPS Tracking device to use through the holiday season, and in some cases will also receive a surveillance camera.

“Like our customers, we at BrickHouse Security value the sanctity and harmony of the holiday season. We are happy to be in position to come to the aid of churches, temples, and other organizations looking for a way to protect their community from this crime,” said Mr. Morris. He added: “While we can’t blanket every nativity scene or Menorah, we hope that the potential of GPS tracking (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/livewire-lightninggps-trackingdevice.html) and the examples set by our three highlighted churches is enough to discourage would-be thieves and vandals from putting a damper on the holiday spirit.

“Free 4 Kids” Holiday Safety Giveaway

Calling all parents of quadruplets: This holiday season, BrickHouse Security announces giveaway of its popular BrickHouse Child Locator, capable of simultaneously tracking four or more kids

New York, NY (Vocus) — BrickHouse Security, a leading provider of safety and security products to major law enforcement agencies including the NYPD, FBI, and the LA County Sheriffs, announced that it is giving away thousands of dollars worth of Child Locator (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/child-locator.html) systems to parents of quadruplets in its Free 4 Kids promotion.

“Holiday shopping and other trips to crowded places make it especially challenging to keep an eye on one’s kids,” said Todd Morris, BrickHouse Security CEO. “We know from parents children how helpful our Child Locator is to them when they’re shopping or traveling. To help, we’re making an early present to families–and with four tags included who needs help more than parents of quadruplets?” he added.

“The BrickHouse Locator has been huge help to my family,” said customer Jennifer Finger. “Around the holidays when I have to brave the crowds with my small children I’m grateful to have my BrickHouse Child Locator close at hand.”

Capable of Tracking up to 24 Children

The BrickHouse Child Locator, targeted toward parents of smaller children, uses RFID technology to help parents locate their children in malls, airports, playgrounds, and other public places; it also sends an alert should a child stray too far. The BrickHouse Locator system comes with four tracking tags, thus the choice of quadruplets as giveaway recipients. However, the system can support families with a single child, or up to 24 with a purchase of units beyond the four included. For parents of teens and older children, the company also offers GPS tracking (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/gps-car-tracking-vehicle-logging.html) products at http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/gps-car-tracking-vehicle-logging.html

Recently featured in Duracell’s recent “Power to Protect” campaign, the Child Locator is currently available at a special holiday price of $149, marked down from its standard price of $169. Information on the BrickHouse Child Locator (http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/gps-car-tracking-vehicle-logging.html) can be found here: http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/child-locator.html.

Giveaway Entry

To be considered as a recipient of the Free 4 Kids giveaway, parents should visit blog.brickhousesecurity.com/giveaway to upload photos of the quadruplets by Wednesday, December 16th; BrickHouse Security will not publish the photos unless the family is chosen to as a giveaway winner and then not without the parents’ permission.

The company will announce winners after verification via Facebook and Twitter on December 21st.

CBS "The Early Show" Features BrickHouse Security Security Tools

early_show_logo_jun08Today, with all the new advances in technology, anyone can be a spy, or can be spied on, all without anyone even noticing. There are tiny cameras and microphones that can be worn on your body, that even if someone knew that you were recording them, they wouldn’t have a clue of what you’re using to do it. CBS News Correspondent Daniel Sieberg of “The Early Show” tested this body worn spy technology, covertly hiding a camcorder watch, tie, and DVR pen on himself and daring the anchor to locate the devices.

Sieberg also described how people can protect themselves when they’re not at home. Some of these options include covert hidden cameras that can double as home surveillance systems. Among those are the Tissue Box Wireless Camera and Clock Camera Hidden Camera. These two devices look like standard fixtures on a night table or bedroom but are actually wireless. And you don’t have to go back to the original camera to gather the footage. There are options available that let you view all footage online from any computer with Internet for added peace of mind no matter where you are in the world.

Aside from the cameras that can do the spying, are the camera finders to help you locate the hidden cameras that could be watching you. For example, the Hidden Camera Detector automatically finds any cameras that are around you, and even catches the signal that the camera might be sending out. Lastly, Sieberg mentioned GPS tracking to unleash you inner security agent. As an ongoing series to monitor the spies that could be spying on your, CBS offers Early Show viewers the ultimate in both surveillance counter surveillance options.

Today Show Features Top Child Safety Devices For Halloween

today

This week, the Today Show showcased “over the top” gadgets for Halloween and ways to keep your kids safe while they’re out trick-or-treating. Showcasing the BrickHouse Child Locator, they explained how the devices helps you locate your child even when in costume or a group of kids.

They also showed a GPS tracking device for your older kids that are out on their own. This second tracker is the Spark Nano Real-Time GPS Tracking Device. The great thing about this one is that the battery lasts on it for 5 days on a single charge and it can be tracked from anywhere through the Internet. This is different from the BrickHouse Child Locator since it uses GPS to locate your kids instead of RFID, which is more used for directional guidance.  Whatever age your kids are, make sure that they are safe this Halloween.

BrickHouse Security Launches Sales of Amber Alert GPS, A Revolutionary Way to Protect Children

Maker of the BrickHouse Child Locator strengthens its child safety product offerings with the addition of the Amber Alert GPS, a small but powerful personal GPS tracker

New York, NY (Vocus/PRWEB ) October 13, 2009 — BrickHouse Security, a leading provider of safety and security products to major law enforcement agencies including the NYPD, FBI, and the LA County Sheriffs, is expanding its consumer product line with the addition of the Amber Alert GPS (AAGPS).

Amber Alert GPS has a small form factor
Amber Alert GPS has a small form factor

“We’ve managed to become one of the nation’s top sellers of GPS tracking products,” said Todd Morris, BrickHouse CEO, “but until today we haven’t offered such an easy-to-use yet powerful product to parents.” While the company has sold thousands of GPS tracking devices to more than 500 federal agencies and Fortune 500 clients, its consumer-focused GPS product line has been limited. “The Amber Alert GPS helps us give families a new and easy way to ensure their children are safe and accounted for when they’re away from home,” added Mr. Morris.

The AAGPS complements the company’s BrickHouse Child Locator product that was recently featured in Duracell ads. In contrast to the Locator, which uses GPS technology to alert parents when their child wanders beyond a set distance of up to 600 feet, the AAGPS device enables parents to remotely locate their children when they are away. To use it, parents simply place the device into their child’s personal items such as pockets and backpacks, or they can attach it to a wrist, ankle, or belt. To then locate their child they call or text the AAGPS device, and within seconds receive in return a detailed map and address of the child’s exact location via any text- or web-enabled phone. Alternatively, they can view location updates on their computer.

With more than 2,000 children reported missing on average every day, the Amber Alert GPS is not dependent upon the parent to keep a child safe. Measuring just over an inch across, the stylish device is intentionally designed to not look like a tracking tool should an abductor see it; more important, the AAGPS features an alert “SOS” button that the child can activate to send an emergency signal to his or her parent. For further protection the GPS device can send speed alerts when the child or teen’s vehicle exceeds a preset level, as well as breadcrumbing to leave a retrievable trail of the child’s travels.

The device was developed by Russell Thornton, who experienced the terror of losing a child in an amusement park. Fortunately, he found his child after an extended search–and the determination to help other parents and children. He chose the name “Amber Alert” in reference to Amber Hagerman, a nine-year-old Texas girl who was abducted and murdered. The search for Amber led to the eventual establishment of a notification service for missing children. The AAGPS is not part of the system, but is instead intended to safeguard against situations reaching an alert stage while providing parents with peace of mind in knowing where to find their children.

“We hear stories every day of parents being separated from their children, whether intentionally or accidentally. Said Mr. Morris, “BrickHouse Security is thrilled to be able to offer introduce this new and effective way of preventing abductions and protecting their children.”

The Amber Alert GPS retails for $379 and requires a monthly subscription plan. For the next 30 days BrickHouse Security will be offering Amber Alert GPS for a special introductory price of $279.95. For more information on the Amber Alert GPS, please visit http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/amber-alert-gps.html.
