Google Maps Update Turns Real Life Into ‘The Sims’

Whether you’re using a GPS unit to track a package, or just finding a better route to work, Google Maps is there for you. Their latest update to the Street View function makes virtually walking through your neighborhood even more realistic; trees included.

The new update makes the whole experience hyper-realistic by blending the street view photos into a smooth three-dimensional world that  looks like a live-action version of “The Sims”. By using 3D models to construct buildings, homes, factories and now, trees, Google aims to create the closest thing to a 3D model of the world that you can explore from a first-person perspective.
