Unmanned Airplanes to Patrol Texas-Mexico Border

predator-bThe South-Western border of Texas will soon be guarded by unarmed and unmanned airplanes or “surveillance drones” starting September 1st. It follows the May 14th  approval that surveillance drones will fly over the borders of West Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.Texas senator John Cornyn put pressure on the Federal Aviation Agency to approve the plan initially but then realized that a large portion of the border remained unguarded and demanded more coverage.

“While the approval process should not have taken this long, I’m pleased to see the FAA moving forward,” Senator Cornyn said.

Though the Senator may be pleased about another step taken to protect the border, many U.S.-bound hopefuls have to face yet another closed door.
