After having 3 cars stolen from his car dealership and the police not coming up with any leads, despite the use of a surveillance tape, Adnan Sheikh (the owner) decided to use the power of the Internet and the social networking giant, YouTube, to help bring the thieves to justice. To make sure that anyone with any relevant information comes forward, Mr. Sheikh is also offering a $500 dollar reward.
The video that Sheikh put up on YouTube shows two people breaking in and leaving with two cars. Shortly after, one of the thieves crashed the stolen 2006 Chevy Silverado (insurance claims that the damage done to this car is around $6,000) less than a mile away from the dealership and returned to steal another car. His second choice was a 2004 Chevy Impala which he managed to drive away with the second time around.
Adnan Sheikh mentions how the thieves are not pros and had no idea what they were doing. The first thing they did was steal a roll of quarters when inside, while latter couldn’t even figure out how to open the door from the inside, which was a simple deadbolt lock:
“The first thing this guy does is he walks to the back and steals some rolls of quarters. Real professional here… This guy can’t figure out how to open a door when all it really is, is a deadbolt. Real genius, real pro… [the second thief] still can’t open the door so these guys have to keep climbing in and out of this window. Super smart.”
The third car that was stolen, was a 2007 Jeep Liberty, which was later found by the police completely burned. As of right now, two cars are wrecked and the Impala is still missing. Adnan Sheikh is asking for anyone with any information to contact him at (970) 310-3420 or (970) 222-6631 and is offering a $500 reward so that he can bring these thieves to justice.
