Consumer Group Warns, Zhu Zhu Pets Unsafe and Toxic for Kids

31lg8unl9xl_sl500_aa280_Before you add Zhu Zhu pets to your holiday shopping list, buyer beware! Consumer Group, Good Guide is saying that Zhu Zhu hamsters, which have been a very high in demand holiday gift this year for kids, actually contain harmful levels of antimony.

Antimony is a toxic substance which can irritate your eyes and lungs, cause heart an dung problems, stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach ulcers. But despite this warning from Good Guide, Cepia, the manufacturer behind the Zhu Zhu hamsters claims that their toys are safe and that they have been thoroughly tested.

Regardless, until the facts are clear, we recommend keeping your child away from these rodents.

Yes GoodGide said that they found the chemical antimony 93 parts per million in the fur and 106 parts per million in the nose and it exceed the federal limit is 60 parts per million.
But some days later they declared that they were wrong and used a different testing methodology and removed the product review from their site.
I’ve read it from here, after that I checked the GoodGide site and it’s true, there is no any information about zhu zhu pets there.
